Humpback Whale



The Humpback Whales are species of baleen. It's scientific name is Megaptera novaeangliae. It's meaning is "big wing of New England". They are find in every Oceans. Humpback Whales are feed on shrimp  like krill and small fish. They can grow up to 16 feet long. They have dark backs, light bellies, pleats on their throats  and small hump in front of their dorsal fin. Humpback Whale calves are known  "whisper" to their mothers. They have 270-400 fringed overlapping plates hanging down from their upper jaws. They straining huge volumes of Ocean water through their baleen plates. The plates are made of keratin witch is the same made of human nails and hair. They can hold their breath  up 45 minutes. They can dive depth of 500-700 feet. Their  normally swim speed is 3-9Km/h
