The Tiger tail seahorse is found only in the western central Pacific waters of Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, and the Philippines. They are known to love to live near coral reefs. They mainly feed on shrimp, plankton, coral and small fish. They have yellowish black bodies with curly tails and dorsal fins. Their maximum weight is up to 28g. Their life span is about 1-5 years. The male one carries eggs in its brood pouch, up to 2000 eggs. They can grow to a maximum length of about 2-10 cm. They are vulnerable species. These species are used in China as a traditional medicine like Giraffe seahorse.
